2009 Volkswagen Passat CC

Elegant, sporty, dynamic - The accessories for the “Best of the Best” title-holder and “red dot design award” winner: The Passat CC. The front spoiler sets the stage for the aerodynamic accessory product range. It provides the elegant lines of the Passat CC front with a sporty note. The front spoiler design optimises the aerodynamics and reduces aerodynamic drag. The seamlessly adapted side skirt set emphasises the striking side profile of the four-door coupé and creates a visual contrast to the distinct shoulder line - the tornado line. The rear spoiler creates a striking extension of the luggage compartment lid, optimises the overall sporty appearance and reduces the tail lift. The high-gloss rear strip in chrome effect provides an additional visual accent while simultaneously protecting the rim of the luggage compartment. Passionate drivers can enter their Passat CC in style with the stainless steel sill protector with 3D Passat lettering.

Volkswagen Accessories has developed the titanium-coloured 19 inch “Sagitta” light alloy wheel with slightly rotated spokes and clear lines. The visual finishing touch for the Passat CC.

Volkswagen Passat CC Enchants the World

International panels of design experts have chosen their winners and one Volkswagen model has made an exceptional impression: the Passat CC. Last night in Essen, Germany, Volkswagen’s four-door coupé was presented with the “red dot Design Award 2009 - Best of the Best”, once again highlighting Volkswagen’s first-class and attractive design concept. The elegant model has also sparked excitement down under in Australia, a statement backed-up by the fact that it has recently won the “Australian International Design Award”.

Last night the Aalto Theater in Essen provided the setting for a wonderful prize ceremony during which Martin Kropp, designer at Exterior Design Studio 1, accepted the “red dot Design Award” for Volkswagen. The “red dot Design Award” is one of today’s most coveted awards that a designer can win for a creative product. The prize has been awarded every year since 2000.

In March, the Passat CC was awarded the prestigious “iF Product Design Award 2009″ in Hanover. At the end of May the coupé also swept the board down under where it won the renowned “Australian International Design Award” in the “Automotive and Transport” category.

Volkswagen CC Gold Coast concept

It made its debut over the summer at Pebble Beach. It showed up again in November at SEMA. And finally, we have a set of our own live shots of the CC Gold Coast concept because Volkswagen sent the swanky 4-door to Chi-town.

The Gold Coast is doused in a rich-looking brown finish dubbed “Pepe Pepper” by DuPont, and it adopts a squat, muscular stance riding on a set of KW coilovers. 19-inch wheels fill out the wells nicely, and a full ground effects kit brings the look even closer to the ground. Veedub’s 280-horsepower 3.6 FSI V6 sits underhood, mated to a six-speed DSG. Stopping power on this looker is further enhanced with a set of the Audi R8’s ceramic discs in front.

While the CC Gold Coast is technically a concept, VW’s making sure it gets in front of as many eyes as possible. Hence, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the “concept” moniker eventually turn into “special edition” – minus those supercar stoppers.
